At a gallery in Ishikawacho, Yokohama,I am planning to hold a solo exhibition. I will exhibit mainly ceramic works, plates and mugs. It's been 7 years since I started making ``ceramic boards'', which are glazed paintings on ceramic canvases. During that time, more than 400 types of glazes were mixed in search of beautiful colors. The excitement of placing glaze on a bisque-fired board, the excitement of firing in a 1250?? kiln until it is taken out of the kiln, the tears and laughter of facing the work taken out of the kiln are moments that make me realize that I am alive. The subjects of my paintings are images created in my head and distant memories. I learned that animals often appear in my works because I drew them a lot when I was a child, and when I was cleaning out the back of my closet. I have lived for 63 years and have experienced many things, and even my hair has turned white, but surprisingly, I feel that my insides have not changed much since I was a child. For about half a year now, I've been working on the theme of "wind." You can't draw the wind itself because you can't see it with your eyes, but you can feel it with your body. This time, I was able to exhibit the "Feel the Wind" trilogy. I hope that the world will become a place where everyone can dream big by feeling the wind, reading the wind, and imagining the future flow of the wind. |
